It was late afternoon at the office when I received the good news. It did a lot to lift  the spirits of this  person who have been sulking most of the day for not being being able to attend the event she (technically, her mother) had paid for.

It was such a relief.

It lessened the guilt I’ve been carrying in the past two weeks. Somehow, it felt like I am more worthy of the gift.

I know I’ll appreciate this moment more once I have completed this urgent deliverable.

But I’m thankful for a chance to make up for what I wasn’t able to offer the parents five years ago. Unexpected. Definitely appreciated.
