an attempt at Coptic stitch

I’ve been watching this YouTube DIY tutorial video on binding using Coptic stitch. I’ve long wanted to learn how to do this kind of stitch for notebooks. I first noticed the coptic stitch in notebook binding when I got this notebook with exposed spine. The good thing about this type of binding was that you can lay the notebook flat no matter how thick or many the pages were.

This is my first attempt at Coptic stitch and it’s quite messy. I need to practice more so I could make the stitches look more neat and decent in the future. It’s a good thing I have a lot of left over blank pages from last year do I have several pages to use for practice.

This is how the notebook looks like after I’ve attached the cover. I wanted a thick notebook with blank pages and I think I got it. Now this is my baseline. I have to work harder to produce better notebooks🙂14962469_10210428749090945_2078815100_n
