a rare treat

Yesterday marked my second year back at work after the heart operation but it was only today that the sisters and I managed to find a common time to celebrate that.

Technically, only the eldest sister the second niece were able to attend the dinner but we did end up going to the third sister’s house with mint chocolate ice cream. The third sister was having a bad day at work so we thought we could give her a visit since she won’t come out to dine with us. I was that determined to bring my second-year-back-at-work celebration to everyone. No one can miss that – especially the person who stayed with me the most during that more than three months of hospital stay.

While we were sorry to miss the paella negra at Haraya (it was available the week before and they have a rotating menu), the lamb and chicken paella was still a great addition to our celebratory dinner table. So we tried the cheese plate, pasta, sliders, and paella. By “we”, I’m referring to three individuals and no –– we did not finish all of the dishes we ordered. We barely consumed 1/4 of the paella.

While enjoying the mint choco ice cream at the third sister’s house, I somehow ended up agreeing to go to Divisoria with the sisters the next day.
