I never would have thought that basil leaves would be my first harvest from the apartment garden.

capturing pa’s smile

One of the aunts during her recent visit mentioned something about the father wanting more photos of him taken by his grandson during their walks to the beach about ten minutes away from our house in Bicol.

This was such a strange thing for me to hear since I clearly remember the father hating getting his photo taken, saying that he looked too frail and ghostlike 😐 At least that’s what we –his daughters – get when we’re the one trying to get him to smile for the camera during attempts at group photos.
