Manong Bert, the resident technician in the training we were at said “Sexy natin ah!” with a pleasant wide smile. I passed him on the hallway as he was cleaning the boards. There I stood was beaming – a grin extended from ear to ear. Then I asked “Bakit, ano po ba dati? (What was I like before?)”
“Slim ka dati (You were slim before),” he answered. And everything turned gloomy. He did say it was a good thing. Maintaining the smile as lingered for a while until we finished the conversation, I was writing mental notes in red ink “I really need to jog twice a week again – and off with rice!
